FESTIVAL OPENING CEREMONY

The band Bombaj Štampa was founded in Sarajevo in 1982 as part of the New Primitivism movement. The group was established by guitarist Nedim Babović, and was soon joined by Branko Đurić – Đuro. After its formation, the band began performing both joint and independent concerts in Sarajevo clubs, where they played their hits “Željo, to je moj tim” (“Željo, That’s My Team”), “Jogging across Alipašino Polje”, and “Dole” (“Down”). These songs were later included on the LP record entitled “Jogging across Alipašino Polje” (LP “Nove nade, nove snage” / “New Hopes, New Forces”) released in 1984. The band’s activities were greatly limited by Đuro’s acting commitments, and their first album, entitled “Bombaj Štampa”, was not released until 1987. In 1990, they released the album “Ja mnogo bolje letim sam” (“I Fly Much Better Alone”). After a long hiatus, the group reunited and, in 2010, released its third album entitled “Neka DJ odmah dole CJ”. The biggest hits from this album are the songs “Nedim” (an adaptation of Chuck Berry’s “Nadine”) and “Vriska” (“Scream”). In 2026, the band released the album “Voljeću te vječno, a možda i duže” (“I Will Love You Forever, and Perhaps Even Longer”). The album marks the band’s return after a 16-year recording hiatus and represents one of the most highly anticipated regional rock releases.
