Sephardic Night is a traditional event that has been held as part of the Baščaršija Nights Festival for 19 years.
Initially, it was a presentation of Sephardic cuisine, but today it is a performance encompassing Sephardic culture and tradition—what the Sephardim brought to Bosnia from distant Spain, including, among other things, their Ladino language, their proverbs, their culture and traditions, Sephardic cuisine, and Sephardic romances.

This year’s programme bears the title “One Night Under the Moonlight”, or “Moonlit Night”, referring to the title of a traditional Sephardic song originating from Bosnia and Herzegovina that was popularised by Flory Jagoda. Some of the most beautiful Sephardic romances will be performed by Saša Kabiljo—composer, singer-songwriter, vocalist, occasional actor, and former radio host—an artist of broad creative expression who has nurtured a love of music and the stage throughout his life.
