Šahin Šišić is a Bosnian-Herzegovinian photographer, film director, and cinematographer who documented life in the besieged capital city Sarajevo during the 1992–1995 war. During the war, Šahin documented the situation in besieged Sarajevo, which resulted in the film Planet Sarajevo in year 1994, with which he won numerous awards and recognitions. The film was declared a masterpiece and is regarded as one of the best films produced during the wartime period. His love for film and photography inspires him to constantly capture life and touch human souls through the lenses of his cameras. He is especially drawn to souls who symbolically dwell on the fringes of traditional human existence — those living on the margins.
