The orchestra was founded by Heiner Buhlmann in 1980 with a small group of young musicians at the Bremen School of Music. The orchestra has grown rapidly to symphonic grandeur and has now been shaping a whole range of new projects for many years, often in collaboration with Bremen’s diverse music scene. Every summer the Orchestra holds a European concert tour. The leader and conductor of the Orchestra has been Martin Lentz since 2012.
